Trust for Public Land
Map location: USA
Art Director: Amy McCollough
Description: This illustrated map of 10 national monuments was created for ‘Land&People’ magazine, published by Trust for Public Land.
The sites on Nate’s map are just a few notable examples of how the Trust’s efforts support national parks. Frequently, they circle back after a monument is created to improve public access by protecting adjacent land.
The map is meant to evoke a sense of Americana, which was accomplished by the use of a parchment background (a nod the Declaration of Independence), the US postage stamp frames, and spot illustration of the US flag, fireworks, and a bald eagle.
This map was created in Adobe Illustrator by Nate Padavick, using vector brushes. AI was not used in the creation of this illustration.
